Mekong Capability Lab helps universities, governments, companies, and investors in Vietnam and across Asia build, test, and innovate the talent strategies, partnerships, and institutional responses to economic growth, technology change, and the AI transition.
The institutions that respond well to change will be the ones that learn faster than the change around them. Institutions face concrete pressures regarding research performance, accreditation, international standing, links with industry, and graduates' readiness for technology-intensive work.
Mekong Capability Lab works at the interface of universities, employers, investors, and government. We build capability—what an institution, firm, or partnership can reliably do after the advisers leave—through a lab approach that treats change as a series of tested iterations.
We establish where things stand, using tested instruments and data to form an empirical baseline.
We develop strategies, curricula, and partnerships alongside the people who will actually own them.
We pilot changes at a controlled scale where they can be closely observed and corrected.
We track results rigorously and refine the methodology until the institutional change holds.
We organize our work into five core areas, each supported by rigorous diagnostic tools and empirical evidence standards.
We guide institutions through higher education strategic planning, governance, autonomy, and accountability. We advise on international accreditation pathways and develop quality assurance systems.
We conduct institutional performance audits, AI-readiness diagnostics, and academic integrity audits. We provide due diligence for investors and program evaluation for development partners.
We provide innovation ecosystem assessment, analyze research value chains, and design academic-industry partnerships. We guide universities through multi-year transformation partnerships.
We deliver labor-market outlooks to guide investment and policy. We develop sector talent plans for priority industries (like semiconductors) and workforce strategies for companies.
We assist institutions with curriculum and pedagogy reform for resilience to AI, personalized learning strategies, faculty and instructor development, and maintaining academic integrity in a rapidly shifting technological environment.
We provide support for strategy, accreditation, curriculum and AI readiness, and high-impact industry and international partnerships.
We assist with talent strategies for the AI transition, higher education policy, system reform, and program design and evaluation.
We deliver sector and asset due diligence, governance and performance advisory, market positioning, and selection of international partners.
We design workforce and AI-skills strategies, map talent pipelines, and structure research and training partnerships with credible local institutions.
